All questions · The days in between

What about sex during treatment?

Usually allowed, and usually different. Desire often drops, dryness and discomfort are common, and tiredness gets in the way. None of that means something is wrong with you.

Two practical things. Ask about contraception, because some treatments can harm a pregnancy. And ask whether there are days in your cycle when it is safer. Almost nobody raises this, and we should.

Written by two physicians. Checked against patient information from the US National Cancer Institute and Cancer Research UK.
