For organizations
Plain answers about cancer and clinical trials, in the hands of the people you serve
Cards on the Table is free for patients and it stays free. Cancer centers, navigator
programs, patient organizations and trial sponsors can bring it to the people they serve: print for
waiting rooms, a version with their own contacts built in, and more languages.
Over 150questions people ask after a diagnosis, each with a plain answer
6languages: English, Spanish, Chinese, Hindi, Yorùbá, Vietnamese
Grade 4.8US reading level across the whole deck, measured September 2026
What you can get
Each is priced to your quantity, languages and setting. Tell us what you need and we will send a quote.
Print
Decks, planners and books for your waiting room
The card deck, the Taking Notes appointment planner, and the seven short books, printed in the
languages your patients read.
- Card decks for clinic rooms and support groups
- Planners to hand out at a first appointment
- Books matched to where someone is: just told, starting treatment, offered a trial
Your center's version
Every "ask your team" gets a number
The same cards, with your trial office, your day-or-night line and your navigator shown beside every
answer, in every language. Your posters carry a QR code that opens your version.
- Your contacts on the cards, the books and every question page
- Only the languages your patients need
- The clinical answers stay the same for everyone
Languages
The languages your community speaks
The deck is built so that a new language is a translation, not a rebuild. If the people you serve read a
language we do not cover yet, we can add it for your program, and then it is there for everyone.
Free
The clinic kit
A letter-size poster, table cards with a QR code for each book, and a one-page guide for clinicians and
navigators. Print as many as you like.
For trial sponsors and research sites
Participants should understand what they are agreeing to, in the language they read best. The trial volume
answers the questions people have when they are offered a trial, from what randomization is to who pays if
something goes wrong.
What sponsors and sites can fund
- The trial volume and planner, printed for your sites in the languages of your participants
- A version for each site, with the study team's contacts beside every answer
- New languages, which then stay free for everyone
Terms that keep it trustworthy
- Sponsors never write, edit or approve the text of any card.
- No product, drug, company or specific trial is named or promoted.
- Every sponsored version says plainly who paid for it.
- The public site stays free and carries no sponsor branding.
Talks and workshops
We also give talks for patient groups and community organizations, and run workshops for research
coordinators, nurses and navigators on explaining trials in plain words.

How it works
- Email us with who you serve, which languages, and roughly how many people.
- We agree the materials, your contact details and a price, and send a proof.
- We print and deliver, or switch on your version, and send the QR codes for your posters.
Questions organizations ask
Do you collect any information about our patients?
No. The site sets no cookies and has no accounts. What a reader saves stays on their own phone. We count
some anonymous totals, such as how many answers were right on a quiz question, with nothing that
identifies anyone.
Can we change the answers to match our practice?
Your version adds your contacts and details beside the answers. The answers themselves stay the same for
everyone, which is what keeps them consistent and lets every card point people back to their own team.
Who writes the cards?
Two physicians, Oyepeju Abioye-Akintola, MD, MSc, and Meghna Mathews, MD. How the cards are written and checked
is set out in our editorial policy.
Is it medical advice?
No. It is education written to help people take part in the conversation with their own team, and every
card sends them back to that team.
