Who wrote this trial, and who is paying for it?

Usually a drug company, a university, or a government cancer institute. Sometimes the same people who make the drug also designed the trial that tests it.

That is not automatically wrong, but you are entitled to know. Ask who funds it, and whether your doctor is paid anything connected to enrolling you.
