Someone offered me a trial. What are they actually asking?

They are asking whether you will let a written plan and chance decide your treatment, instead of your doctor's judgment alone. The reason is so we can learn something we do not yet know.

That is a real thing to be asked, and you are allowed to take days over it. Ask your team how long you have before they need an answer.
