Usually more tests, and more waiting than anyone would like. Scans, blood work, sometimes a biopsy, and a meeting where several specialists discuss your case together.

The waiting is the hardest part and it is not a sign that anything is wrong. Ask who to call if something changes before then, and write the number down.
