What is radiation actually doing?
It is a beam aimed at one place. It damages the cancer cells there so they cannot keep dividing. You do not feel it, and you are not radioactive afterward.
Because it is aimed, most side effects happen only where the beam goes. Skin over that area may get sore, like sunburn.
