Will I get a placebo?

In cancer clinical trials you will not usually receive a placebo instead of effective treatment. Most trials compare the current standard treatment with a new treatment, or with the standard treatment plus a new medicine.

If a placebo is used, it has to be explained to you before you agree. Ask your team exactly what the other group receives.
